Daniel,
Thanks again for our time together Saturday at Callaway; it was the
second best day of shooting I've ever experienced.
My best ever day of shooting was the following Sunday at
the Meadows...we took everything as singles...and we didn't keep score -
but Damn, what a difference! I must have run 7- 8 of the Fields, and on
most of those knew I could have run a dozen more targets just as easily.
After our lesson Saturday I went home & made a page of notes - wondering
as I wrote why you had not included these pearls of wisdom in
Take Your Best Shot. Later that night I
re-read your book & saw every one of them not only listed, but
emphasized (maybe except for 'cheek time'). It's hard to overstate
the added benefit of personal instruction & illustration compared to
just reading the book.
I plan to work on skills for awhile & attend your Workshop earliest.
Thanks again,
Jim Bode

Blue Sky Sporting Clays
As a sporting
clays course owner, over the years I’ve watched students eventually
lapse back into their old style, habits, and scores. There is a clear,
concise message in this and unfortunately in most cases the inevitable
truth. I wish it were a message that more shooters would take home from
their lessons.
Advertisements in trade magazines illustrate and reinforce the fact that
the majority of shooters are looking for magic. They throw money at guns
and roam from method to method, unhappy, always searching for some
miracle that will break more targets. It is no different than dieters
who look to
fad diets and pills to lose weight. I believe, as Dan does, that
progress is a process requiring a commitment of time, patience and
multiple sessions with a teacher. Without this preparation and training,
improvement is just wishful thinking.
Experienced
shooters who have achieved high levels of accomplishment, provide testimony
to these facts through their visits to Paragon.
Dan
Schindler, through innovative leadership, is turning the national focus
towards the mental aspects of target shooting and competition. That’s
why Paragon is the premier institution for the serious shotgun
enthusiast.

I
took one of Dan's Clinics in October. My group received excellent, hands-on
training in a relaxed atmosphere. Dan went above and beyond the call
of duty. We certainly got more than our monies worth! The guys a good
teacher and that's a rare commodity.

Well,
it was all true, Dan is an excellent teacher. He broke down the shooting
process for a novice to understand. After three hours of verbal and
hands on instruction, I saw the target, knew why and where I missed,
and most of all to my delight I broke many.
Two days later, I went back to TM Ranch after my stay at Disney. My
goal was to shoot fifty targets to see what my retention rate was. I
had ten opportunities to learn from my mistakes. The others were clean
breaks. In one lesson, I had progressed from about 35% to 80%. Thanks
to Dan for his patience and ability to teach.

Dan has the rare talent to convey clear, concise and correct instruction
with a positive attitude and even temperament.
From the
beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of shooting clay targets
to the competitor who wants to shoot more consistently, I highly recommend
spending some "Quality Time" with Mr. Dan Schindler while
he looks over your shoulder. I have learned that regardless of the skill
level of an athlete, if that athlete desires to improve or to remain
consistent, there is a need for a coach or instructor who can provide
both a diagnostic and a prescription. If this were not true, professional
athletes wouldn't have coaches.
